Forever Foodie: Archer Farms Honey Cinnamon Almonds

I am going to start the Forever Foodie portion of my blog with these little delights.

I purchased my first bag of these from my local Target and I went back the next day to buy the rest. Gosh these are good. And not terribly bad for you. They are sweet, and flavorful without being overpowering. You will want to buy a few extra bags of these because if you are anything like me, they won't last very long!
Ingredients:
almonds, sugar, corn syrup, honey powder, salt, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean) butter, spices, soy lecithin, baking soda, propylene glycol, enzyme modified butter oil & caramel color.
There are 180 calories in a 1/4 cup serving of Archer Farms Honey Cinnamon Almonds.
Calorie breakdown: 59% fat, 28% carbs, 13% protein.

Happy Hair (Part 2)

The Ongoing Process
To keep my hair looking its best, I have tried bottle after bottle of product, box after box of styling wands and straighteners, and experimented with every tube, can, and spray on the shelf.
Here is what I have learned.

The Straightener
You have probably been bombarded with their sales pitches at the mall. They offer to curl half of your head, and then try to get you to buy their overpriced wand at their "special price". As annoying as their salespeople are, they sure got their Straighteners right! I have used the Herstyler Classic Forever Flat Iron for 4 years, and it is still kicking. Best part? It was under $30! Don't pay the ridiculous prices at the mall. This flat iron can be yours for well under half what they sell for at the mall!

Herstyler Classic Forever Ceramic Flat Iron
Overall Score: 9/10

Pros:
*Inexpensive professional style flat iron
*Sleek, lightweight
*Heat Adjustment
*Leaves hair shiny and smooth

Cons:
*Once or twice, I have had my hair get caught in the side of the plates. This only occurred when I was doing my "hurry and get ready! You were supposed to be there 10 minutes ago!" routine.
*Does not have an auto-shut off and well, I forget to unplug it sometimes. (My house is still standing, thankfully.)

Happy Hair! (Part 1)

To launch my first review, I am going to begin with my personal hair journey. It will consist of multiple mini-reviews (since this journey did not happen over night). Hair care is an ongoing process and should be treated as such. There is no miracle cure (as many hair care companies would lead you to believe..) and results can be slow. I am still learning how to take care of my particular hair type, and not everyone will have the same results as I did.

Let's jump right in, shall we?

Since I was a pre-teen I struggled with hair growth. see photos (Please excuse my 'duck face' and peace signs.. I thought I was cool) I have very fine, thin hair that really doesn't do much of what I want it to.

When I was 17 years old I discovered the beauty of hair extensions.

Ever since, I've stuck with them, which leads me to my first Avid Fashionista Review

Overall Rating: 8/10

Pros:
*Lifeless, flat, thin hair is transformed into long, thick locks!
*Fairly inexpensive ( compared to salon extensions) Do it Yourself option of hair extensions.
*Can be taken in and out quickly and without damage.
*Can be dyed, cut, styled, washed, whatever! Since it is 100% real human hair.

Cons:
*Can be uncomfortable when tugged on.
*Clips (on occasion) tend to poke out when I wear my hair up.
*Only last about 4-5 months before they begin to become damaged or frizzy.

For me, Clip in Extensions have really been the way to go! Eventually, I think I will branch out and give different options a shot! But for now, they are the least expensive and economical way to have the hair I really want!

Update!

To really give you an idea of what Hair Extensions can do, here is a look at my before and after pictures. The Before is my natural hair and hair color. (Ew, so bad!) and the After shows my hair after a Brazillian Blowout, (more info here:What the H-E-Dub is a Brazillian Blowout?) Hair Color, and Clip in Extensions.
Crazy right?
If you are in the Utah County Area I highly suggest you see Taylor at Shear Madness Salon! She offers a variety of services including the Brazilian Blowout! She Transformed my hair, and she can transform yours too!

You can purchase the Brazilian Blowout Products here: (free shipping!) Brazilian Blowout Kit
Overall Score: 7/10
Anti-frizz Shampoo and Conditioner
Pros:
*Eliminates Frizz
*Smells great!
Cons:
*A tad expensive. I like to keep my hair products under 30 bucks!
